Senate to start work on Capital Investment bill

The House and governor have outlined their visions for a state capital investment bill and the Senate could do the same thing by the mid-portions of next week.

The construction bill is the main tasks of legislators during this legislative session.

MADISON, Minn. (AP) - A 19-year-old man has admitted that he hosted an underage drinking party attended by a high school athlete from Dawson who was later found dead of hypothermia.

Pizza Hut of Marshall closes doors

A long established chain on the Marshall pizza scene has closed its doors.

Pizza Hut of Marshall closed yesterday. The closure affects roughly 12 employees.

The store received information on the closure within the last few days.

Ground is broken on Marshall Regional Track and Field Complex

Ground was broken Monday afternoon on the new Marshall Regional Track and Field Complex. The ceremony was held on Monday as both Southwest Minnesota State and the Marshall high school will work together to build the project.

Lake Benton teen killed in crash along US Highway 14

A Lake Benton teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 17-year old Delbert Willert was killed in the head on crash that occurred along U.S. Highway 14 west of Lake Benton.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An arbitrator says Minnesota State University, Mankato, had no grounds to fire football coach Todd Hoffner and he should be reinstated.

Dayton signs anti-bullying law

An anti-bullying law that replaces one some found too weak is now in place.

Governor Mark Dayton used an outdoor ceremony Wednesday to sign a bill toughening Minnesota's stand against bullying. The bill passed overnight after a protracted House debate.
