Grand Jury Indicts Montevideo Man From Raid

(MINNEAPOLIS - AP) A federal grand jury has indicted a Montevideo man for allegedly possessing Molotov cocktails and a pipe bomb.

Twenty-four-year-old Buford Rogers of Montevideo was arrested earlier this month in what the FBI has called a thwarted terror plot.

Dayton Signs K-12 Education Bill

Yesterday, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton signed a major K-12 school funding bill into law.

Tracy Native Gets A Spot on Masterchef

Tracy native, Jordan Roots has won a spot on Fox's Master Chef television program.

Roots, a 2002 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton graduate, has won one of the 40-spots in the competition.

Roots' ancho chile tostada drew rave reviews from the judges. In fact, one judge called the dish one of the best opening dishes he has ever tasted.

Dayton Disappointed In Bonding Bill Failure

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton yesterday called the legislative session a major success, however, the Governor did have one disappointment.

The governor said the failure of an 800-million dollar bonding bill was disappointing.

Fast Food Restaurants Hit By Burglars

The Marshall police department says three fast food restaurants were the targets of burglaries some time Sunday night or Monday.

According to the police department's incident report, three burglaries were reported in Marshall along the 1100, 1300, and 1400 blocks of East College Drive.

The incident is under investigation with the police department, they are not releasing a lot of information.

Legislature Approves Bonding Bill But Leaves Off Marshall Projects

The legislature approved a smaller bonding bill last night, it did not include either local project for the Regional Amateur Sports Facility or upgrades to the MERIT Center.

Legislature Approves Disaster Relief

Before adjouring last night, the state legislature approved 1.5-million dollars in state money to match federal disaster assistance for a mid-April ice storm that hit Southwest Minnesota.

Legislature's Final Day

It is the final day of the legislative session, and there is much to do today, before the 2013 session of the Minnesota Legislature becomes history.

The House passed the Omnibus tax bill early this morning, on a tight 69-65 vote.
